SINGAPORE: Nine new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Singapore on Friday, October 16, 8 imported infections.
For the first time since 12 March, the number of active instances in Singapore has fallen below 100, the Ministry of Health (MOH) said.
A case discovered in a bedroom of foreign workers. No new cases have been reported on the network.
New infections bring the total number of COVID-19s in Singapore to 57,901.
TWO SINGAPOREES BETWEEN IMPORTED CASES
Two Singaporeans, a 62-year-old boy and a 19-year-old, were among the imported cases reported on Friday.
Four others are exhibitors of recently hired paintings in Singapore, from Indonesia, the Philippines and Myanmar.
All were placed on notices of remains of houses upon arrival in Singapore and this period was tested, the Ministry of Health said.
The other two instances hold short-term passes.
One of them is a 36-year-old boy who allowed Singapore to enter Singapore from India because he was already receiving medical care in Singapore and had returned for additional treatment.
“He was transferred directly to a hospital and transferred remotely upon arrival in Singapore and tested,” the ministry said.
The case is a team member of a shipment that arrived from Indonesia.
The guy had not disembarked from the boat and had been cleaned on board after having symptoms. He remained in the shipment until the result of his check tested positive for COVID-19 and was then taken to the hospital, the ministry said.
Epidemiological research is ongoing, the Ministry of Health added.
“Meanwhile, all known close contacts in the instances have been remote and quarantined, and will be tested at the beginning and end of their quarantine age so that we can stumble upon asymptomatic instances. “
“We will also conduct serological tests for contacts close to whether the instances may have been inflamed with them,” the ministry said.
The Ministry of Health stated that it monitors existing groups for long-term transmission.
ONLY SLEEPING CASE
The only case in the bedroom detected through the fortnightly control of the Ministry of Health (MS) regime over staff living in dormitories.
The result of human serology was positive again, indicating a likely past infection, the Ministry of Health said.
“(The regimen tests listed) allow us to find cases temporarily, adding asymptomatic cases, so that we can temporarily isolate them to additional transmission, by aggressive containment, tracking and isolation of nearby contacts,” the Ministry of Health said.
Overall, the number of new ones in the network has remained strong on average less than one case consistent with the day for more than two weeks.
The number of unrelated instances on the network has decreased from an average of less than one case consistent with the day of the week after none in the following week.
“We will continue to monitor these figures to a large extent, as well as the instances detected by our surveillance program,” the ministry of fitness said.
As there were no cluster-related instances at The Jovell’s structure site at 27 Flora Drive during the last two incubation periods, 28 days, the cluster was closed, the ministry said.
Recoveries
Another 20 have been discharged from hospitals or network isolation centers, bringing overall recovery to 57,784, the Ministry of Health said.
Thirty cases are still in the hospital. Most of them are solid or improve, with no one in the extensive care unit.
A total of 59 instances are remote and controlled on network premises. These are instances that have mild symptoms or are clinically fine but test positive for COVID-19.
“This is the first time since March 12 that the number of active instances (including hospitalized instances or network facilities) has fallen below 100,” the fitness ministry said.
Twenty-eight died as a result of headaches from COVID-19 infection.
PROTECT COMPANIES AND JOBS
Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat told parliament Thursday that with the scale of the COVID-19 crisis, the government could possibly not save all businesses and jobs, but it will continue with each and every worker.
As some jobs “may never come back,” Heng suggested that mid-career professionals become industries and accept pay cuts to get “in a better position” after the crisis.
He also called for being “receptive” to hiring mid-career workers, who come with his “rich experience. “
The COVID-19 pandemic has led Singapore’s economy to its worst recession since independence, and the Ministry of Labour recorded 11,350 reductions in the first part of the year.
According to the ministry, this figure is higher than the 10,120 recorded in the SARS period, but remains lower than other maximum recessions.
On Thursday, the Transport Ministry announced that Singapore and Hong Kong had reached a preliminary agreement to create a bilateral air transport bubble.
This means that those under the bubble will have no restrictions on their goal and will not want to have a controlled itinerary. Travelers will also not be quarantined or will notice staying home.
However, travelers will want to test negative for chain reaction through mutually identified COVID-19 polymers and must also fly committed to those traveling under the bubble.
