The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) on Thursday reported 894 new cases shown of the novel coronavirus (Covid-19), at least 2632 recoveries and 3 deaths in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of other people recovered from the disease. in Qatar to 86,597.
In a development of Covid-19, the MoPH said that the 3 deceased were elderly aged 57, 58 and 67 respectively and were receiving mandatory medical care.
“We are seeing an increase in the number of deaths in recent weeks and this is due to other people who became inflamed at the peak of the virus several weeks ago,” he explained.
There has been an increase in cases among families. This is of great fear because this organization of the population includes the percentage of older people and other people with chronic diseases.
“Now more than ever, we will have to be careful and protect the vulnerable as much as possible,” MoPH urged.
As Covid-19 restrictions are lifted in Qatar, it is vital that everyone plays their part in controlling the virus through the following precautionary measures: respect physical distancing, wear a mask and wash your hands regularly.
“Most importantly, it is important that we continue with older adults and other people with chronic diseases,” the Ministry of Public Health insisted.
The ministry said all new instances have been placed in isolation and are receiving physical care based on their physical condition. According to a tweet from the Ministry of Public Health, with a total of 5593 more people being tested for covid-19 in the last 24 hours, as many as 366,095 have been tested so far in Qatar. The total number of other people inflamed in Qatar since the beginning of the Covid-19 outbreak is 97,897.
The total number of existing active instances is 11,182. The total number of other people currently in acute hospital care is 779, adding up to 85 acute hospitalizations in the last 24 hours. The total number of Covid-19 deaths to date in Qatar is 118.
The Ministry of Public Health said measures to combat covid-19 in Qatar managed to flatten the curve and restrict the spread of the virus. The number of new cases and hospital admissions has gradually decreased in recent weeks.
Anyone suffering from symptoms of Covid-19 deserves to call the 16000 helpline or go directly to one of the designated fitness centers to pass the mandatory checks: Muaither, Rawdat Al Khail, um Salal or Al Gharafa Health Centers.
