85% of Filipinos still get a coronavirus – SWS

MANILA, Philippines – An estimated 85% of Filipinos still contract COVID-19, according to a survey conducted through Social Weather Stations (SWS), the effects of which were unveiled Wednesday.

The last survey was conducted from July 3-6 through cell phone interviews with 1,555 respondents, all of whom are adult Filipinos.

“This hasn’t replaced much compared to 87% concerned (73% very worried, 14% worried), 7% a little worried and 7% not worried about contracting the virus in May 2020,” SWS said in his report.

“Compared to previous SWS surveys, the fear of COVID-19 capture is greater than that of catching past viruses such as Ebola, swine flu, avian influenza and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS),” he added.

SWS noted that the survey conducted after network quarantines were at ease in most of the country, adding the metropolitan domain of Manila, whose citizens appear to be the most affected, with 92% of the population fearing infection.

After the Manila Metropolitan Area, the concern for coronavirus is higher in Libra Luzon with 87%, followed by Visayas with 85% and Mindanao with 77%.

The government has been criticized for its alleged shortcomings in its reaction to COVID-19, saying the administration prioritizes other problems over the ongoing fitness crisis.

However, cabinet officials, who added presidential spokesman Harry Roque, had trusted the previous public that the government’s reaction to COVID-19 was not a removal, bringing studies that put the number of inflamed Americans at 3.5 million if the government had not implemented national quarantine levels. . The SWS stated that the number of respondents was divided according to the area estimates of the Philippine Statistics Authority, 306 of the National Capital Region, 451 of Libra Luzón, 388 of Visayas and 410 of Mindanao.

The corporate survey maintains sampling margins of 2% for national percentages, 6% for the Manila metropolitan area and 5% for Libra Luzon, 5% for Visayas and 5% for Mindanao).
