Himachal Pradesh recorded 70 new infections with Covid-19 on Saturday, bringing the state total to 2,634, he said.
Active instances in the state are now 1103, as 43 patients have recovered.
Of the new cases, 15 were reported in Sirmaur, 11 in Bilaspur, 10 in Una, in Solan district, 8 in Kangra, seven in Mandi district, 4 in Chamba, 3 in Shimla, two in Kullu and one in Hamirpur district.
In Kangra district, a five-year-old Woman from Gopalpur in Palampur tehsil and a four-year-old boy tested positive. A 22-year-old army jawan from the village of Salli in Shahpur tehsil and a jawan of the 21-year-old army from Chauki village in Jawalamukhi tehsil are also among the new cases. They both have a history of Leh. Another 27-year-old army soldier from Nurpur tehsil with a Delhi record tested positive.
In Sirmaur, five other people tested positive in Purviya Mohalla, Nahan, while one user tested positive for Ward 3, Paonta Sahib, Assistant Commissioner RK Purthi said.
In Chamba, an army jawan with a history of Srinagar tested positive, while 3 others working in a personal company with a history of Bihar, West Bengal and Odisha tested positive in the village of Holi.
In Bilaspur, 11 other people running in the Kothipura structure of the Indian Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) tested positive. They were transferred to the Chandpur Dedicated Covid Care Center (DCCC).
In Mandi district, five police officers at Gohar police station were among the new cases. In Hamirpur, a 25-year-old boy from Sujanpur tested positive.
Special Health Secretary Nipun Jindal said 12 deaths have been reported in the state so far while 1,502 patients have recovered. Up to 15 patients migrated out of state.
With 663 cases, Solan remains the district most affected, followed by Kangra with 468 cases. Sirmaur has 35 cases, Hamirpur 307, Una 217, 168 in Shimla, 172 in Mandi district, Chamba 109, Bilaspur 99, Kinnaur 45 and Kullu has 37 cases. Lahaul and Spiti remain the least affected districts with 4 cases.
