Cairo: Some 500 Pakistani doctors, nurses and technicians are expected to arrive in Kuwait at the end of this month for the country’s fight against the new coronavirus, a media outlet reported on Sunday.
His arrival will take place after completion and recruitment procedures, reported the Kuwaiti newspaper Al Jarida, which mentioned fitness sources.
“Ministry of Health officials are in constant contact with their counterparts in Pakistan to bring Pakistani medical groups to Kuwait. There is coordination between the two parties in relation to their wage estimates,” the resources added, without giving details.
Pakistan is one of 32 countries from which Kuwait banned flights last month due to its physical condition.
Pakistan’s medical service in Kuwait will last six months with the move of kafala (sponsorship), resources said.
“The [Ministry of Health] is exploring the option of appointing several of them after their contracts are finalized so that their facilities oppose COVID-19,” the resources added.
The sending of Pakistani doctors to Kuwait is part of a cooperation agreement signed through the physical conditioning government of the two countries in July. Kuwait recorded a total of 88,963 cases of viruses and 540 deaths from COVID-19.
