MANILA, Philippines – The Ministry of Health has known five hospitals that will be the clinical trial center of China’s Sinovac Biotech vaccine against coronavirus disease.
Sinovac’s partner, who will manufacture the vaccine in the country, has also submitted his application to the DOH for a phase 3 clinical study.
“Negotiations are still ongoing and have already submitted their final confidentiality disclosure agreement to the panel of leading vaccine experts,” Vergeire said.
Because of its inability to expand its own COVID-19 vaccine, the Philippines relies in other countries to deliver the vaccine opposed to the fatal respiratory virus.
The country is in talks lately with 16 vaccine brands around the world, Russia and China, the ministry of fitness said.
The country has also joined COVAX Facility, a mechanism designed to make COVID-19 vaccines fast, fair and equitable around the world.
The Philippines is also part of the World Health Organization’s solidarity trial for other remedies for COVID-19.
