MANILA, Philippines – Another 4,444 patients inflamed with coronavirus disease (COVID-19) have a higher number of cases in the Philippines at 143,749, the Ministry of Health (DOH) said Wednesday.
Of the other cases, 2,618 were from the Manila metropolitan area, 233 from Laguna, 227 from Cavity, 174 from Rizal and 129 from Bulacan.
636 new recovered instances were registered, bringing the total number of recoveries to 68,997.
However, the number of COVID-19 deaths in the country is now 2,404 after new deaths have been recorded.
The DOH noted that 231 duplicates had been disposed of, adding nine recovered instances and one death from the total number of instances.
“In addition, two cases were found to be negative and removed from the total number of cases after final validation,” the DOH said.
“In addition, we have updated the physical fitness prestige of the 62 instances in the past reported as healed, but after final validation, there were 60 deaths and two active instances,” he added.
