34 of the Filipinos in South Korea with COVID-19 recovering

MANILA, Philippines – Some 78 Filipinos in South Korea have COVID-19, but almost part of them have already recovered, Jesus Business Manager Christian told Wednesday.

“To po ating kababayan dito in South Korea, the naitala of the Philippine Embassy and COVID-19, the po and 78,” De Jesus said in a televised briefing.

“Nais ko pong i-share din na in the 78 Filipinos na positivos, 34 in ay na-discharge na and 44 naman ang treatment,” he added, adding that Filipinos with maximum inflammation are mild cases.

(I would also like to express the percentage of the 78 Filipinos, 34 have already been released and 44 are still being treated).

De Jesus said that South Korea, which has the highest country affected by COVID-19, has eased restrictions, with the government in a position to allow church meetings and sporting activities.

“Unang a po ay can sitwasyon dito. Katunayan nga, ambitious itong Biyernes, unti unting bubuksan ng pamahalaan to Korea and pagtitipon with simbahan at sporting events,” De Jesus said.

(There are innovations on stage here. In fact, next Friday, the Korean government will reopen meetings of devotees and sporting events).

“Unti unti po itong niluluwagan. But sinusunod pa rin ang mga pag-iingat. The social estrangement from the masks,” he continued.

South Korea has so far recorded at least 14,000 cases of COVID-19, of which about 13,000 have already recovered and three hundred have died.
