At a televised public briefing, Hermosura said he had won reports that about three hundred Filipinos in the Gulf state had contracted respiratory disease, some 260 of them had already recovered.
(It is bad luck that thirty-one of them have died, adding up 4 Filipino fitness here in Kuwait.)
According to the Coronavirus Medical Resource Center and Johns Hopkins University, there are 56,877 cases of COVID-19 in Kuwait lately, 46,897 cures and 399 deaths.
The diplomat said Kuwait is “simple” in treating the remains of COVID-19 patients, as they are without delay buried in Muslim or non-Muslim cemeteries with burials according to the devout traditions of the deceased.
He also reported that some 23,000 Filipinos in Kuwait had been displaced due to loss of homework or “no work, no wages.” About 5,000 of them received assistance from the Department of Labor and Employment’s AKAP program.
