Sarina Wiegman extended her unbeaten run as England manager to 30 games with Finalissima’s win over Brazil on Thursday.

They defended their name in 2023 against a less formidable lineup of South Korea, Italy and Belgium, with captain Leah Williamson dedicating the name to the injured Mead and her late mother June.

Wiegman’s warm-up programme for the European Championship at home saw victories over qualifiers, Belgium, the Netherlands and Switzerland.

Toone gave England the lead in the first half, but Mary Earps gifted Andressa Alves a beaten equaliser to take the game to penalties. Wembley.

Wiegman won 25 of his 30 games in charge, scored 138 goals and conceded 10, and never more than one per game.

Mead is the leading scorer with 21 goals in that span, Toone contributes 14, White and Stanway thirteen each, Russo 11 and Hemp 10.

Twenty other English players scored on Wiegman’s aggregate, in addition to six goals against his side.
