3 new cases of coronavirus shown in Simcoe Muskoka, the total is now 716

The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit showed 3 new cases of the new coronavirus on Thursday, bringing the total number of cases to 716, adding 37 deaths.

One of the new instances is in Bracebridge, Ontario, which involves a resident of Pines Long-Term Care Home, the last COVID-19 outbreak in the area.

The other new cases involve two from Bradford and Ramara, Ontario. The source of your infections is still under investigation.

There have been two outbreaks of coronavirus in long-term care facilities lately: one in Pines and one at Mill Creek Care Center in Barrie, Ontario.

There were also 17 other institutional COVID-19 outbreaks in the region: nine in long-term care facilities, 4 in nursing homes, 3 in the and one in an organization’s home.

Of the 716 cases of coronavirus in Simcoe and Muskoka County, 91%, or another 650 people, have recovered, while two remain in the hospital.

On Thursday, Ontario reported 132 new cases of coronavirus, bringing the provincial total to 42,686, 2,812 deaths.
