Three positive coVID-19 cases were detected among staff attending the Wisconsin Center, home to the 2020 Democratic National Convention.
But the conference organizers said the positive tests did not cause Wednesday’s announcement that the speakers, adding Joe Biden, would not go to Milwaukee.
A spokesman for the conference said Thursday: “Ensuring the protection and well-being of everyone involved in the conference is our most sensible priority. In consultation with civil servants and public aptitude experts, the Democratic National Convention Committee has implemented strict aptitude and protection protocols, adding daily evidence. for anyone who accesses the conference complex and for contacts.”
News of the positive tests was first reported through The Daily Beast.
Daily testing of the new coronavirus began last week in the preparation of the convention from August 17 to 20.
The test formula was put in position 3 weeks before the convention. The goal is to make sure the formula worked and choose the staff that will be on site.
Organizers sought to identify cases before others entered and were close to others.
According to protocol, people who needed access to Central Wisconsin had to have a negative check 24 hours before they entered.
Last week, there were two “equivocal results” that indicated the possible presence of the virus. But the following showed that these were false positives.
This week, 3 instances were detected and reported to the Milwaukee Department of Health. Those who took the test were told to isolate themselves.
