A 29-year-old Covid-19 patient in Goa died of infection on Monday, the youngest victim of the disease in the state, fitness authorities confirmed.
The patient suffering from liver and central disorders is the 23rd covid-19 victim in the state.
Goa has registered 3853 instances to date, and although the state registered daily double-digit instances until June, they have since moved to 3 digits since early July, giving the state a new headache that once credited keeping the numbers low.
The health government has expressed fear that production sets in Goa’s commercial spaces will have super spreaders of the disease, with a single pharmaceutical company contributing to 136 positive cases and prompting a rebuke from the secretary of fitness.
Covid-19 cases of commercial sets also raise considerations about the disease in the communities from which they originate.
On a positive note, two other people over the age of 90 have recovered from the virus and have since been discharged after being hospitalized for 23 days.
“A 90-year old woman who was admitted in a critical condition and, suffering from dementia and malnutrition steadily improved under the able treatment and care of the COVID Hospital doctors and staff,” the state government said in a statement.

Taluka Mormugao de Goa was subjected to a one-week blockade, even when the rest of the state came out of a weekend blockade. Mormugao is the maximum affected taluka in the state and represents more than a third of Covid-19 instances in the state.
