Both France and Argentina are names for their third world championship. France won in 1998 and 2018. Argentina won the name in 1978 and 1986. Only 8 countries have won World Cup names since the tournament began in 1930.

But what would arguably be more attractive is the war between Paris Saint-Germain’s teammates, Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe.

Messi, 35, is widely regarded as one of the greatest soccer players of all time. He has seven Ballon d’Or trophies, is an 11-time national league champion and 4-time Champions League winner. What his resume lacks is a World Cup title, and this is his last chance to get it.

Mbappe is looking for his World Cup name for now. A member of the France team he won in 2018, and some other cup name on his resume would put him on track for the equivalent of Pele as a three-time champion. He has already helped PSG. won a Ligue 1 championship and was named 2018-19 Men’s Ligue 1 Player of the Year.

Both players are also vying for the Golden Boot as the tournament’s most sensible top scorer. Mbappe and Messi lead the World Cup with five goals. Argentina’s Julian Alvarez and France’s Olivier Giroud have 4 goals.
