Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Singapore’s shipping companies came here in combination to provide employment opportunities for Singaporean citizens and permanent citizens entering the labour market. The Singapore Maritime and Port Authority (MPA) works heavily with Workforce Singapore (WSG) and shipping companies to provide new graduates with more than two hundred internships to expand applicable skills and delight in the industry through SGUnited’s internship program [1], as well as to create greater opportunities for similar bonding for mid-career people. 2 These internships are presented through corporations in the port and maritime sectors, such as PSA, Jurong Port, Maersk Singapore, Bernhard Schulte Ship Management and maritime corporations of the Kuok Group, in one of the areas covering trade, operations, engineering, ICT and professional business purposes.
3 MPA, in partnership with SkillsFuture Singapore and WSG, has also updated the Maritime Skills Framework to provide data on specialized positions such as cargo capacity specialists and emerging new skills such as environmental compliance, knowledge research and technological integration. a non-unusual consultant for the progression of skills and career plans for human resources professionals, employers and staff, and will help companies and staff better respond to technological advances and business conversion needs.
