SINGAPORE: Another 193 migrant bedrooms have been cleaned from COVID-19, the Ministry of Labour (MOM) said on Tuesday (14 July), bringing the total to 818.

He added that about 215,000 employees recovered or tested negative for coronavirus on Monday. Some of them expect to be moved to adequate housing before they can return to work.

“Others may return to the paintings once the bedroom operators, employers and staff have made the mandatory arrangements to complete the 3 steps required that will minimize the threat of new infections when staff move on to the paintings on a daily basis,” MOM told the press. Launch.

“Most of the bedrooms finished the steps in a week or less.”

Migrant staff living in dormitories make up the majority of COVID-19 cases in Singapore, and the government has cleaned the bedrooms through “aggressive evidence” of those staff.

The bedrooms that were legal on Tuesday included a specially constructed bedroom, 170 factory-switched bedrooms and 22 structure units.

In addition, the ministry cleared 19 blocks to recover from 8 specially constructed bedrooms.

Of those 19 blocks, 3 are from Mandai Lodge’s bedroom.

“With this, the entire Mandai Lodge was declared free of COVID-19, the remaining block had been cleaned before,” MOM said.

A total of 818 bedrooms have already been cleaned from COVID-19, as well as 59 recovered blocks from 19 specially built bedrooms.

Employers can check MOM’s for the latest list of unoccupied bedrooms and bedrooms to be cleaned in the coming weeks.

“As we continue to return to the paintings, we urge all dormitory, employer and staff operators to remain vigilant and ensure that protective measures for paintings and life in protection are strictly followed,” the ministry added.
