15 team members tested positive for COVID-19 worked on consignment in Singapore for repairs, refueling: MPA

Fifteen members of the Philippine team who tested positive for COVID-19 last week worked on the same shipment that had arrived in Singapore from India for maintenance and supplies, the Singapore Maritime and Port Authority (MPA) said on Saturday (August 15).

The Bahamas-registered ocean ship arrived in Singapore on 8 August.

The first sailor on board to show up with COVID-19 on 12 August.The next day, the Ministry of Health (MINSA) reported that 4 other team members had tested positive.

On Saturday, a week after the shipment arrived in Singapore, it was reported that 10 team members tested positive.
