14-day stop for Ospital ng Tondo when COVID-19 hits 32 front rows

MANILA, Philippines – ng Tondo Hospital in Manila city will be temporarily closed after 32 frontline doctors tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19), Mayor Isko Moreno announced Friday.

(I will close Ospital ng Tondo in the meantime, on the day I will point out the document).

(There is a request from our manager because we have 32 patients who are doctors in our own hospital, the closure will ease their burden as doctors and nurses are also patients, this would give them time to recover).

Moreno said the hospital would not admit patients for 14 days or two weeks to allow fitness workers to run out.

In the radio interview, Moreno said the hospital would be closed for 10 days, but public data from Manila later clarified that the temporary closure of the hospital’s operations would take effect for two weeks.

Moreno, however, is confident that COVID-19 patients who remain in the hospital will continue to receive medical care.

The hospital closed its service maximum on 11 May to make room for cleaning and disinfection. It resumed its entire operations on May 26.
