1189 cases and one death on Sunday, Covid-19 recoveries reach 2753 in Qatar

The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) announced on Sunday 1,189 new cases of Covid-19, up to 254 new recovered and one death in the last 24 hours. The total number recovered in Qatar now stands at 2,753.

In a statement, the ministry explained that most of the new cases are expatriate staff infected with the virus as a result of contacts with infected people in the past, in addition to registering new cases within staff teams in the regions. These cases became known after investigations through the ministry.

The Ministry of Public Health noted that there was also an increase in the number of infections among citizens and citizens who had been in contact with the Covid-19 positive circle of family members, who in turn had become inflamed in the office or elsewhere.

All new inflamed cases have been quarantined where they get medical care, the MoPH emphasized.

The ministry reported the new death of a 54-year-old resident who was receiving medical attention in the intensive care unit and suffered from chronic illnesses. The Ministry of Public Health offered its sincere condolences and deepest condolences to the circle of relatives of the deceased.

He also highlighted that MoPH has introduced a network examination to be more informed about how the virus is transmitted within the network and better perceive cases of infection that do not show symptoms of the disease.

Using self-service test centers, invited participants completed a questionnaire. Last week, tests were conducted for another 2500 people who won an invitation to participate in the network’s questionnaire, which aims to better perceive the transmission of the virus in the network and thus adapt the reaction of stakeholders.

This study is expected to continue in the coming period, and the ministry has encouraged those who receive an invitation to respond and participate in this initiative to contribute to national efforts against the virus and better understand the epidemiology of infection transmission. among the members of society.

The MoPH noted that the current era is the peak level of the virus outbreak, when numbers would likely continue to rise before beginning to stabilize and then gradually decline.

He added that the increased number of new cases is due to the ministry’s redoubled efforts to stick to the virus’ transition chains and expand the tracing circle of other inflamed people through thorough and proactive investigations of a large number of contacts with others who have been shown with the virus recently.

MoPH noted that the number of tests it conducts on other people depends basically on the number of contacts with other people infected with the virus, as it proactively conducts random checks in other parts of the country. The number of tests performed is not similar to the number of instances detected in terms of increase or decrease, MoPH added.

According to the Ministry of Public Health, with a total of 3215 more people being tested for covid-19 in the last 24 hours, up to 127,769 were tested in Qatar.

There are 22,520 positive cases to date in Qatar and 19,753 are in treatment lately. The total number of Covid-19 deaths to date in Qatar is 14.

MoPH renewed its call to all network members to stay home and not faint unless mandatory and to apply preventative measures and physical distancing, adding in the office and in public places. The ministry reminded others to wear masks as advised and avoid social visits to lessen their threat of contracting the virus.

The MoPH also suggested the public stop by its online page for the latest data and commands similar to Covid-19.
