Previously, the highest case recorded six in May. After the start of the new season, each series of checks produced 3 or 4 positive checks.
“The Premier League can verify that between Monday 21 September and Sunday 27 September, 1595 players and club staff have been screened for COVID-19,” he said on the league’s official website.
