Although I was fortunate to be stranded in New Zealand for two years due to the pandemic, I missed the ability to replace countries and explore new horizons. As COVID restrictions nevertheless relax and overseas travel resumes, I can’t wait to make up for all the trips I’ve missed. As a full-time traveler, I have the luxury of having time. So when I think about where I should go, I’m more interested in exploring other cultures and everyday life than seeing attractions in Express Towns (with a few exceptions). Here are some of the places I can’t wait to discover.
In 1993, I spent a year racing in Paris, France. There I became friends with a glorious colleague from Réunion. At that time, he didn’t know where he was. Eventually, my friend returned to Reunion, where he got married, started a circle of relatives, and came to stop with me in New York, twice! We discussed the fact that it was my turn to stop in your country. It is a small island near Madagascar and the best position to move to Africa. I had planned to make a stopover in 2020 when I booked a passrilla hike in Uganda. I had to suspend those plans, so now I can’t wait to take them back. a volcano, hikes and perfect beaches. I can’t wait to explore them all.
Pro tip: The most productive time to stop is between May and November. The driest and least humid season. January is a very rainy month.
Discovering in its herbal habitat has been one of my favorite parts of traveling around the world. Naturally, I can’t wait to see the lemurs. Apparently, there are many varieties! Madagascar is also known for generating vanilla, so learning more about it and its manufacture is something I would love to do. Another charm is the baobabs. The variety of trees and plants from one country to another fascinates me and this tree is the one I would like to embrace and see first hand.
Madagascar is right next to Reunion Island, making it the best place for when you arrive in this part of the world. I enjoyed my time in Southern Africa and can’t wait to explore the African continent any further.
Pro tip: Like Reunion Island, Madagascar has a hurricane season at the beginning of the year. The most productive time is from May to October.
Turkey has had a special appeal to me because I consider it the country of East and West. I can’t wait to see the architecture, the fabric patterns and the spices. Although I don’t need Turkish rugs, I find them beautiful and would like to see them in the markets. Of course, there is the magic of flying carpets and magical villages in the sand of various videos that draw me to this country, as well as Turkish coffee and Turkish food. I’m curious to compare the original Turkish. cuisine with the Turkish restaurants I’ve dined on in New York.
I can’t wait to see the balloons in Cappadocia because it is one of the photographs that come to mind as a precious testimony. I would like to see it with my own eyes.
Pro tip: Prepare for the option of a Turkish toilet, an undeniable gap in the floor. Although they are clean, they may not be comfortable to use if you are used to Western toilets.
Years later, in Paris, I tried a Moroccan mint tea in the 5th arrondissement. A boy arrived with a tray on which was a beautiful glass cup and a kettle. In the cup were pine nuts. I watched, amazed, as he lifted the kettle above the cup, and poured, perfectly, to the maximum sensitive of the glass, without spilling. Then he put everything in front of me. It’s one of the most delicious tea reports I’ve ever had. This is the beginning of my preference for traveling to Morocco.
I almost celebrated my 50th birthday here, but felt I needed more than a few days to explore it. They call me through the glorious markets, the blue city and, of course, a camel ride through the desert. I have seen sand dunes in Peru, Namibia and even New Zealand, so seeing villages on the sand will complete my delight with other landscapes. What I like about Morocco is that it is part of Africa and yet it is close to Europe, although it has an Arab influence. This approach of cultures fascinates me. I visited Israel years ago and was intrigued by the number of other cultures, which we see struggling, living in peace in Jerusalem. The architecture and colors of the other Moroccan cities are also something I would love to see.
Pro tip: If you get lost in a souk in Marrakech, ask families or women for help rather than young children, as they will insist on getting a big tip for their help.
Years ago, I met an adorable couple from Montenegro and since then I need to orient myself. I’ve spent so much time in the ancient parts of Western Europe that I can’t wait to explore Eastern Europe and the Balkans, where I didn’t spend any time. My family’s legacy is from Eastern Europe, so I’d like to get a feel for what it’s like in this part of the world. Montenegro is also perfectly interspersed among other countries that I would like to explore through exercise such as Croatia, Albania and Budapest.
Pro tip: Traveling can be more fun than traveling by bus.
I enjoyed traveling through Asia. Se feels incredibly like a woman traveling alone. I can’t wait to see much more. The Philippines turns out to be an idyllic land of lush beaches and vegetation. I have heard that other people are also glorious. I can’t wait to feel the peace and rest on the beaches and explore the many islands that make me need to take out my camera and enjoy the moments. Palawan is a domain of special interest with its beautiful perspectives and beaches. The concept of being able to spend an infinite amount of time exploring more than 7,000 islands is more than appealing.
Pro Tip: U. S. citizens can stay in the Philippines for 59 days on a visa and can increase their stay by up to six months.
There are places I need to go back to because I’ve had glorious reports there. In 2019 I spent 4 months in Argentina. As I travel slowly, without a planned itinerary, I do not pass to each and every corner of the countries I visit. I locate places I enjoy and stay for a while and explore the culture, rather than looking to see each and every tourist site in a week. Four months in this glorious and huge country was not enough!I made glorious friends that I would like to see again and I need to explore places I didn’t see the first time, like Cordoba and Puerto Madryn. Of course, I would also like to enjoy a daily dose of yerba mate.
Pro tip: Learn some Spanish before you go, as you may encounter many other people who don’t speak English, especially in small towns.
I fell in love with seeing Table Top Mountain every day in Cape Town and have been eager to return since my first stopover in 2019. I can’t wait to explore some of the neighborhoods I’ve come to know and see the window. of the passes this time, a view I missed last time. It is a vast country full of glorious people, wild animals and landscapes. I can’t wait to go back to Cape Town and make my way to more Africa.
Pro tip: Don’t walk around Cape Town after dark.
While I spent six months touring South America in 2019, I didn’t go through Ecuador. One quiet afternoon, exploring Rotorua, New Zealand, I arrived through a market. A woman selling colorful and dazzling jackets. It turned out to be from Ecuador. We had a glorious conversation, in Spanish, about her life and she invited me to stay with her in New Zealand. I bought one of their jackets and had a glorious party, which made me want to know more about the Ecuadorian people. I love the colorful garments of South American countries and enjoyed the rolling mountains that welcomed me to Colombia and Peru, so traveling to Ecuador would be another opportunity to explore those landscapes, colors and delight in anything else. what I’ve noticed in some of the other South American countries. Of course, the Galapapass Islands are also on my list!Another thing I’d like to see is wildlife.
Pro tip: The weather is possibly colder than expected.
It’s a newer country on my “I can’t wait to go” list. For much of my life, I related Mexico to “Montezuma’s Revenge” (diarrhea) after drinking water there. In recent years, smart friends have praised Tulum and others have. I spent months in places like Guadalajara, Oaxaca and Mexico City. I’m in love with the colors and patterns I see in Mexican artworks. This is a country that, I know, will have food that will tickle my senses. I can’t wait to notice it. Genuine Mexican cuisine as an alternative to the Tex-Mex I know in the United States.
Pro tip: Don’t drink water or use ice cubes in your drinks. Montezuma’s revenge is still there.
The fact is, I can’t wait to go everywhere. The opening and easing of regulations is a welcome relief. My feet had been anxious for a long time to resume roaming and I am extremely happy to be able to let them guide me. to new destinations.
