SINGAPORE: Singapore reported 10 new cases of COVID-19 at noon on Wednesday (7 October), the Ministry of Health (MOH) said.
New infections bring the national total to 57,840.
Four of the new instances live in dormitories. The other six are imported boxes, all of which were put into operation upon arrival in Singapore.
Of the 10 new cases, 8 were asymptomatic and detected as a proactive examination and monitoring, the Department of Health said in its update Wednesday night.
Two of the imported ones were symptomatic.
BEDROOM CASE
Of the 4 instances living in dormitories, one was known in the past as contact with past instances and had already been quarantined to save him additional transmission, the fitness ministry said.
He was quarantined to find out his condition.
The remaining 3 cases were detected by surveillance tests, such as fortnightly regimen tests on bedroom living.
“This allows us to temporarily stumble upon cases, adding asymptomatic cases, so that we can temporarily isolate them to save you additional transmission by aggressively containing, tracking, and isolating nearby contacts,” the ministry added.
He added that several clusters were now closed because there were no more instances similar to them in the last two incubation periods: 28 days.
These include: Bedroom S11 – Punggol (2 Seletar North Link) and structure on nine Penang Road / 8 Loyang Crescent.
IMPORTED CASES
The two symptomatic imported cases involve a 26-year-old paint permit holder from Myanmar and a 35-year-old Indian citizen with a short-lived pass who had travelled to Singapore from Myanmar and the United Kingdom, respectively.
Both developed symptoms on October 4 and manifested themselves by COVID-19 two days later.
The 4 imported infections were asymptomatic.
He is a 37-year-old Burmese citizen with paintings who came to Singapore from Myanmar and a 23-year-old Chinese painting holder who traveled to Singapore from France.
The other two imported infections are a 27-year-old with a paint permit from the Philippines and a 26-year-old from Myanmar who had travelled to Singapore from their home countries.

“Overall, the number of new people in the network has remained strong in an average of one case consistent with the day for the next two weeks,” the Ministry of Health said.
“The number of unrelated instances on the network has remained solid on an average of less than one case consistent with the day for more than two weeks.
“We will continue to monitor those figures closely, as well as the instances detected by our surveillance program. “
Of the new cases, 80% are imported or connected to known cases/groups, while the others are waiting for a tactile search, the Ministry of Health added.
A total of 12 cases of COVID-19 infection were evacuated from hospitals or network isolation facilities, the Ministry of Health said.
A total of 57,624 more people have fully recovered from the infection and have been discharged from hospitals or network care facilities.
Lately there are 39 cases still shown in the hospital, of which the maximum are solid or improving and one is in critical condition in the intensive care unit, the ministry said.
A total of 150 patients are remote and cared for in network facilities. These are those that have mild symptoms or are clinically fine, but test positive for COVID-19.
There were 27 deaths in Singapore as a result of headaches from COVID-19 infection.
Transport Minister Ong Ye Kung said Tuesday that taking “proactive action” to revive the Changi Air Hub is a “national priority. “
Efforts to revive the centre come with the continuation of greenway agreements and the negotiation of air bubbles with countries with low COVID-19 infection rates.
However, it is mandatory to “manage expectations,” he told Parliament in a ministerial.
“For members who expect me to be about to announce the resumption of air travel and even holiday destinations imaginable in December, I’m sorry to disappoint you.
“We spent a little time adding a painful circuit breaker, to get to the solid stage we have today. And we’re not going to have to give that up,” he said.
